Grief
Series: The Omega Iniative
The night skies of Asgard showcased an array of wonders that no living mortal has ever had a chance of seeing. The stars in the distance sparkled like a sun hitting a diamond and the array of colours danced in the distance.
However, at the base of one of the branches of Yggdrasil, sat a man weeping. His curled dark brown hair was ragged as he clutched his turban. "Not like this," he weeped silently. "Why must my words be twisted and used for hatred. Where are the leaders and why don't they stop this?"
He felt a warm hand touch his shoulder and looked up. Through his red eyes he recognized his long time friend. "Oh Yeshua..."
The man smiled and brought his friend into a hug. "I saw Muhammad. Allow yourself to cry, you will not be judged here my friend."
"My words...I gave my people words for them to build upon a foundation of peace and enlightenment. But they pervert my words. Why have their leaders not stepped in? Why do they allow this poison to continue Yeshua?"
"Fear. There is a fear down on Midgard my friend. A fear so primal that no one can look beyond it. They have become blinded by ignorance and pride. But it is not all like that. The good do outweigh the evil down there," Yeshua responded as let go of his despondent friend.
"But where is the good?" he asked. "Why are the good so afraid?"
"Because of the Tribe mentality of all the mortals. The strong lead the weak and the strong are willing to do anything to stay strong."
"Strength and power is not a sign of evil my friend," Muhammad spoke wearily.
"No of course not. But those who do use it for evils often lack the wisdom to see beyond their own beliefs and lack the courage to change their convictions."
"I...don't understand?"
Yeshua sat down and spoke calmly to his friend. "When I walked on Midgard, I had a chance to speak with a holy man from the far east and he spoke to me of the three tenant of leadership. To be a true leader, you must have the power to to be in control. The courage to allow free thinking and the wisdom of when to change. Many leaders often lack one or two of these attributes."
"Those who follow in my name often fail in applying one of these attributes. At one time they held much of Europe, but lacked courage and wisdom to allow those who did not share the same belief to live amongst them. There was a leader on the Hangul Peninsula back during when I was alive who allowed free thinkers to speak their mind. He entertained different notions of philosophy, but was slain in a coup when he lost control of his army to his son."
"It is true there seems to be no courage amongst my people," Muhammad spoke bitterly, his eyes looking at the ground. "No Wisdom to showcase that it is time for change."
"But you are wrong my friend. I watch Midgard all the time and I have seen your followers and my followers live amicably. In the land of Canada, I have watched your people celebrate holy days in my name and share in the festivities. In the land of Egypt, my people have protected your people in times of crisis."
"I have seen that and it does make me proud that there are those who follow my teachings take the proper path," he smiled wearily.
"Muhammad my friend, it will take time for change, but you must never give into despair. When you do, those who pervert your teachings win."
Muhammad nodded and looked at his turban. "Thank you Yeshua. Forgive me but I need to be alone for a small bit"
"Of course my friend. If you wish to speak with me further, I will be speaking with Baldr."
Muhummad smiled and placed his turban on his head before sitting back down and thinking about the future.
